Resumen de El habitar contemporáneo en América Latina: repensar la relación entre el ambiente y la arquitectura desde lo social

Cada trabajo presentado consiste en un tema de investigación cuyas categorías de análisis, develaron paulatinamente tanto los contenidos como los modos de abordarlos. Partir de un paradigma socio-físico (Muntañola), resultó ser la estrategia para reelaborar la relación entre el ambiente y la arquitectura; el aporte de las ciencias sociales (en especial de los psicólogos ambientales) y de los profesionales del habitar (en especial de los arquitectos y los urbanistas) fue clave para la construcción de una línea de investigación.
La línea presentada constituye el núcleo del proyecto académico actual del investigador, diseñado a partir de su biografía intelectual. Después de un largo recorrido de debates, confrontaciones y formulaciones acaecidos en la experiencia de producir y transmitir conocimiento, se logra precisar el sentido de la línea de investigación; como constitución y reconstitución de las regiones socio históricas de América Latina, evidenciadas en las nuevas maneras de abordar y enfocar los territorios de esta región del planeta, en el mundo contemporáneo, cuyas palabras clave: habitar, territorios, América Latina y contemporáneo, articuladas en una proposición teórica y metodológica que combina ejes temáticos, dimensiones de la realidad e investigación cualitativa, dan cabida a una gran diversidad de temas y problemas de investigación.

Each work presented is a research topic whose categories of analysis gradually unveiled both the content and the ways to address them. Initiating from a socio-physical paradigm (Muntañola) proved to be the strategy to rework the relationship between the environment and architecture. The contribution of social sciences (especially environmental psychologists) and professionals of living or inhabiting -mainly architects and planners- were the key to building a line of research.
The line presented is the core of current academic project for researchers, designed from his or her intellectual biography. After a long run of discussions, confrontations and formulations occurred in the experience of producing and transmitting knowledge the meaning of the research is clarified and achieved; as constitution and reconstitution of the socio historical regions of Latin America, evidenced in the new approaches and focus areas of this region in the contemporary world whose keywords such as living, inhabiting, territories, Latin America and contemporary accommodate a wide variety of topics and research problems, articulated in a theoretical and methodological proposal that combines themes, dimensions of reality and qualitative research.
