    • In last decades, renewable energies in the European Union are acquiring a great importance due to the positive economic-social implications that entail its development. So, among other factors, we can highlight the obtaining of environmental benefits or the employment creation. The objective of this paper is to analyze the economic-social implications of the development of renewable energies in the case of Spain. The results show that household electricity prices have not been reduced and environmental costs are increasing. However, an important increase of employment was developed where workers a high level of skill and a steady job.
