Resumen de Eficacia da avaliación neuropsicolóxica precirúrxica no programa de cirurxía da epilepsia do complexo hospitalario universitario de santiago (CHUS): converxencia con outros índices na hipótese de lateralización

  A cirurxía da epilepsia supón unha opción terapéutica importante para tratar pacientes con epilepsia farmacorresistente e con crises dunha frecuencia e gravidade, permitindo mellorar a súa calidade de vida.

  Mais a eficacia da cirurxía está relacionada principalmente coa coidadosa selección dos pacientes que se poderían beneficiar dela. A avaliación neuropsicolóxica ten un papel destacado neste obxectivo, colaborando na localización do foco epileptóxeno, ademais de describir o estado cognitivo do paciente antes da intervención cirúrxica e determinar as funcións cognitivas que están preservadas e as que están alteradas, podendo así diminuír a posibilidade de danos logo da intervención.

  Preséntanse os resultados achados en relación ao grao de converxencia entre a avaliación neuropsicolóxica e o lugar da cirurxía, naqueles casos nos que xa foran intervidos (n=27), e a converxencia na hipótese de lateralización entre a avaliación neuropsicolóxica e outras probas (Resonancia Magnética Cerebral e Vídeo-EEG) na mostra total (n=70).

  The surgery of the epilepsy supposes a therapeutic option important to deal with to patients with farmacorresistent epilepsy and crisis a frequency and gravity, allowing to improve his quality of life. But the effectiveness of the surgery is related mainly to the careful selection of the patients who could benefit from this one. The neuropsychologic evaluation has an outstanding paper in this objective, collaborating in the location of the epileptogenic center, besides to describe the cognitive state of patient before the operation and to determine what cognitive functions are preserved and altered which, being able thus to diminish the damage possibility after the intervention. The results found in relation to the degree of convergence between the neuropsychologic evaluation and the place of the surgery, in those cases in that already they had been taken part (n=27), and the convergence in the hypothesis of lateralización between the neuropsychologic evaluation and other tests (Cerebral Magnetic Resonance and Video) in the total sample appear (n=70).
