Resumen de Una formación cultural italiana en Buenos Aires (1890- 1910)

A partir del estudio de una publicística llevada a cabo por un grupo de inmigrantes italianos en Buenos Aires entre 1890 y 1910, es posible delinear una formación cultural de artistas, críticos y editores. Desde una posición alternativa al nacionalismo en la puja por el espacio artístico, este grupo cultural llevó a cabo un programa ético-estético sustentado en una construcción del pasado de los inmigrantes en el Río de la Plata, ciertas instituciones y un conjunto de publicaciones. A través del análisis de las condiciones de aparición de la Asociación Artística Italiana y el caso ilustrativo de la Exposición Preliminar de artistas italianos, se pretenden contrastar los principales problemas e interpretaciones que la historiografía ha identificado y realizado sobre la inmigración italiana y las características de su organización.

From a publicistic study conducted by a group of Italian immigrants in Buenos Aires between 1890 and 1910, it is possible to outline a cultural formation of artists, critics and editors.
From an alternative position to nationalism striving for the art space, this cultural group carried out an ethical-aesthetic program supported by a construction of the past of the immigrants in the Rio de la Plata, certain institutions and some publications. Through the analysis of the conditions for the appearance of the Italian Art Association and the illustrative case of the Preliminary Exhibition of Italian artists, this work intends to contrast the major issues and interpretations that historians have identified and conducted on Italian immigration and the features of its organization.
