Resumen de Primera cita a Europa d'un pregadéus d'origen americà, Brunneria borealis Scudder, 1896 (Insecta: Mantodea: Mantidae)

  En aquest estudi es cita un Mantidae d'origen Nord-americà (Brunneria borealis Scudder, 1896) en un indret proper a Barcelona (Catalunya, península Ibèrica). Aquesta troballa representa el primer cas documentat de la introducció d'un mantoïdeu exòtic a tot el continent europeu. S'exposen algunes hipòtesis que intenten explicar com s'ha pogut produït el seu trasllat des de la zona d'origen i se'n descarten unes altres. Finalment es discuteix la seva incidència en l'ecosistema i la interacció amb els pregadéus autòctons.

  In this paper an American Mantidae (Brunneria borealis Scudder, 1896) is reported for the first time in the European continent. This species was found in a place near the city of Barcelona (Catalonia, Iberian Peninsula). This Finding represents the first documented case of an alien Mantidae in all the European Continent. In this paper we give some hypothesis that try to explain how its introduction in Europe from America could have been, and in addition, some other ways of introduction are discussed and discarded. The incidence of Brunneria borealis in the ecosystem and the interaction with the native Mantidae is also discussed.
