  La memoria colectiva define la identidad colectiva. La memoria del Holocausto forma parte de una identidad cosmopolita en construcción de la que quiere participar el Estado español. Pero al mismo tiempo se pretende evitar la revisión del pasado franquista y de la complicidad con el nacionalsocialismo. Ejemplo de ello sería el proyecto de ley sobre la nacionalidad de los sefarditas

  The memory of the Holocaust shapes national and social identity in countries which experienced the Shoah and is part of the Cosmopolitan identity (Sznaider/Levy 2002). Actually there is a link between collective memory and collective identity. In the case of Spain, public institutions are trying to participate of the global culture of remembranceby underlining the role played by a few Righteous among the Nations from Spain. But at the same time these institutions avoid confronting the dictatorial past of Spain and the Spanish complicity with the executioners of the Holocaust. This article analyzes different political and legal measures taken by the Spanish State to participate of a globalized memory of the Holocaust without confronting its own past.
