  Análisis del papel de Sevilla como centro artístico y exportador, en el tercer cuarto del siglo XVIII, a través de la figura de un agente comercial, Bernardo García de Azcárate, y de su función como intermediario, gestor y contratador de obras de arte y manufacturas (esculturas, campanas, platería, azulejos, tejidos brocados, bordados) destinadas a las Islas Canarias. Su correspondencia epistolar (1756-1772) con el prócer canario Felipe Manuel Massieu de Vandale, destacado exponente de la aristocracia mercantil isleña, permite conocer las vías y formas de remisión y recepción, las vicisitudes de los envíos, las motivaciones y circunstancias de los encargos, la red de contactos o el patrocinio artístico de sus clientes, así como el funcionamiento y la actividad del taller del escultor Benito de Hita y Castillo, brillante figura de la estatuaria barroca andaluza, con el que mantuvo una relación permanente.   Analysis of the role of city of Seville as artistic centre and exported in the third quarter of the 18th century, through the figure of a business agent, Bernardo García de Azcárate, and his function as intermediary, manager and negotiator of art work (sculptures, bells, silversmith´s craft, pottery plates, brocades, embroidery) destinated to the Canary Island. The epistolary correspondence (1756- 1772) with the canary sir Felipe Massieu de Vandale, outstanding exponent of the mercantile aristocracy of the island allows to urderstand the different ways ans forms of the receiving system, the vicissitudes of the sending system, motivation and circumstances of the assignments, relationships or the artistic sponsorship of his customers, as well as the functioning and the activity of the studio of the sculptor Benito de Hita y Castillo, prominent figure of the andalusian baroque statuary with whom he kept a permanent relationship. In his production, we can find new works of the sculptor with the documentary confirmation of others sculptures.
