Resumen de Evaluation of audible noise level on distribution transformers using the sound pressure method

  En este trabajo se presentan los resultados de las mediciones de ruido audible a diez transformadores de distribución sin carga usando el método de presión sonora. Las pruebas se realizaron en el Laboratorio de Ruido Audible de la Universidad del Valle, según los requerimientos descritos en la Norma Técnica Colombiana NTC 5979. Los ensayos permitieron verificar la conformidad del producto respecto a los límites de ruido establecidos en la Norma Técnica Colombiana NCT 5978. Además, se logró identificar el efecto en las emisiones de ruido para dos transformadores al realizar variaciones de voltaje en la fuente de alimentación. Se encontró que el nivel de ruido emitido por los transformadores bajo prueba es considerablemente inferior a los límites establecidos en la norma y se ve significativamente afectado por el voltaje de la fuente de alimentación.

  In this paper the results of audible noise measurements to ten no-load distribution transformers are presented using the sound pressure method. The tests were done in the Audible Noise Laboratory of Universidad del Valle, according to the requirements described in the Colombian Technical Standard NTC 5979. The tests allowed to verify the conformity of the product in respect with the audible noise limits established in the Colombian Technical Standard NCT 5978. In addition, it was possible to identify the effect of noise emissions of two transformers when making variations of voltage in the power source. It was found that the noise level emitted by the transformers under test is considerably lower than the limits established in the standard and it is significantly affected by the voltage of the source supply.
