Dos vários exemplos de ações tirânicas apresentadas pelas fontes hispano-visigodas no século VII, chamam-nos a atenção as ocorridas no reinado de Wamba. A primeira, promovida pela nobreza da Prouincia Narbonense, terminou com a vitória do soberano diante do usurpador, o Dux Paulo. Mas a segunda, gerada no seio da corte régia, culminou com a deposição do princeps christianus sacratissimus.

From the several examples of tyranic actions presented by the hispano-visigothic sources in the seventh century, we draw attention to the ones which ocurred in the region of Wamba. The first, promoted by the nobility of the Pronuncia Narbonense, ended with the victory of the sovereign against the usurper Dux Paulo. But the second, generated within the heart of the court royal to the dethronement of the principes christianus sacratissimus.
