Resumen de Escola medica salernitana, procedimientos cirúrgicos estéticos e Trotula de Ruggiero: um trabalho de campo em Salerno (Itália)

Salerno was characterized as a multicultural city provided by the geographical position in the Mediterranean and the foundation of the Medical School of Salerno. This medical institution was the first and most important medical school in the western world with prestige in medieval Europe and also being a pioneer in accepting a medical woman, a medical female Trotula De Ruggiero. The aim of this study is to know the history of the Medical School of Salerno, the evolution of aesthetic surgical procedures and the live of the first medical woman formed in Europe. This is an ethnographic study through fieldwork with 6 semi-structured interviews and participant observation in museums (Roberto Papi, Virtual and Abaco), the University Hospital and the University of Salerno

Salerno foi caracterizada por ser uma cidade multicultural por sua posição geográ- fica no mediterrâneo e pela fundação da Escola Médica Salernitana. Essa instituição de ensino foi a primeira e mais importante escola médica no mundo ocidental obtendo prestí- gio na Europa medieval e sendo também pioneira na atuação feminina na medicina, a Trotula De Ruggiero. O objetivo deste estudo é conhecer a história da Escola Médica Salernitana, a evolução dos procedimentos cirúrgicos estéticos e o trabalho da primeira mulher formada médica na Europa. Trata-se de um estudo etnográfico realizado através de trabalho de campo com 6 entrevistas semiestruturadas e observação participante em museus (Roberto Papi, Virtual e Abaco), na Universidade e no Hospital Universitário de Salerno.
