    Los “vecindarios del kilómetro 2” integran un conjunto de parcelamientos de antiguas tierras rústicas de la ciudad de Santa Fe. Fueron delineados a principios del siglo XX, a dos mil metros al norte de la estación de la compañía francesa de ferrocarriles. La WUDPDXUEDQDDSHQDVKDEtDVXSHUDGRORVFRQ¿QHVGHHVDHVWDFLyQFXDQGRHOSURFHVRGH urbanización creció de manera discontinua sobre aquellas quintas. El predio de talleres ferroviarios —instalado por la misma compañía en el Km 2— fue determinante en esa extensión urbana. El objetivo de este artículo es explicar la conformación del sector y destacar el rol de las asociaciones vecinales en procura de mejoras tendientes a neutralizar sus problemas urbanísticos.

    The “2 Kilometre Neighbourhoods” consist of a set of subdivisions sited on old rustic lands of the City of Santa Fe. They were plotted early in the XX Century, two thousand metres North of the French railway company main station. The urban structure had hardly gone beyond the station’s boundaries when the urbanization process began to develop discontinuously over those plots. The Company’s railway workshops, which were installed 2 KM from the station played a decisive role in that urban expansion. The objective of this DUWLFOHLVWRH[SODLQWKHXUEDQL]DWLRQ¶VFRQ¿JXUDWLRQDQGWRHPSKDVLVHWKHQHLJKERXUKRRG associations’ role in obtaining improvements and neutralising their urban problems.
