    Las revistas de arte y literatura han ejercido un influjo considerable en los procesos culturales del siglo XX. La revista Syntaxis, publicada en Canarias entre 1983 y 1993, ha sido considerada «una de las expresiones más altas del pensamiento crítico en torno a la literatura y las artes plásticas» de la llamada Transición a la democracia en España. La vocación internacionalista de Syntaxis quedó plasmada, entre otras cosas, en el elevado número de traducciones que publicó. En este artículo se estudian tanto el significado de esas traducciones (autores, textos, temas) como el papel de las teorías de la traducción y de los traductores con los que la revista trabajó

    The magazines of art and literature have had a considerable influence on the cultural processes of the twentieth century. The Syntaxis magazine, published in the Canary Islands between 1983 and 1993, has been considered «one of the highest expressions of critical thinking about literature and the arts» of Transition to democracy in Spain. The international vocation of Syntaxis was captured, among other things, the high number of translations published. In this paper we study both the meaning of these translations (authors, texts, themes) as the role of theories of translation and translators the magazine worked with
