    Los cambios producidos en la ciudad de Baeza durante las etapas íbera, romana y visigoda tuvieron su reflejo en el mundo rural,el ager. Este artículo se adentra en la evolución del territorio baezano desde la implantación del sistema viario, que inauguró la romanización del entorno, continuando con la división y parcelación de los campos y finalizando con el establecimiento de las primeras unidades de producción agrícola tipo uilla, así como de los sistemas defensivos tipo turris que permitieron un control efectivo de la zona.

    The changes produced in the city of Baeza during the Iberian, Roman and Visigothic periods were reflected in the rural world, the ager. This article explores the evolution of Baeza’s territory beginning with the introduction of the public thoroughfare system, which started the romanization of the surroundings, following with plot creation and division of fields, and finishing with the establishment of the first agricultural production units, similar to uilla, as well as the defensive systems, in the style of turris, which allowed an effective control over the area.
