Se trata de explicar el origen, significados y transformaciones semánticas de ciertas expresiones populares no muy corrientes y no tratadas en repertorios al uso. Y de aclarar el origen, a veces extraño y escondido, de algunos vocablos surgidos de relaciones figurativas generalmente no detectadas. En estas páginas se pretende corregir, pues, algunos usos vulgarizantes y desterrar etimologías fantásticas.

Our aim is to explain the origin, meanings and semantic transformations of certain popular sayings which are rather uncommon and have not been dealt with before, as well as to clarify the somewhat strange and hidden meaning of some words arising from figurative relations generally undetected. Thus in these pages vulgar uses will be corrected and fantastic etymologies banished.
