    Manuel Alonso Moyano, alias Manolo, fue uno de los grandes humoristas gráficos sevillanos del primer tercio del siglo XX, retratando con su lápiz, semana a semana, cuanto acontecía en la vida política de Sevilla desde la revista Don Cecilio, entre otras. Y presentamos su biografía en este estudio estructurada en tres ámbitos interrelacionados en el tiempo: En primer lugar la vertiente humorística y sus dibujos en las principales revistas satíricas sevillanas, su participación en la Humorística de San Sebastián organizada por la Asociación de Dibujantes Españoles y su marcha a Madrid para trabajar en la industria cinematográfica de los dibujos animados durante la II República. Una segunda parte, destacando su vertiente artística como cartelista de la Feria de San Miguel de Sevilla y pintor en las exposiciones de la Sección de Bellas Artes del Ateneo hispalense. Su gestión como secretario de la misma entre 1927 y 1928, y el papel de Rey Baltasar que representó en la cabalgata de Reyes Magos de Sevilla de 1928, además de otros encargos. Por último tratamos la vertiente política y su compromiso con el Partido Reformista de Melquíades Álvarez, hasta el estallido de la Guerra Civil española y sus repercusiones por haber participado en las logias masónicas.

    Manuel Alonso Moyano, alias Manolo, was one of the great Sevillian cartoonists of the first third of the twentieth century, portraying his pencil, week to week, as happened in the political life of Seville from the magazine Don Cecilio, among others. And present his biography in this study structured in three interrelated areas in time: First the humorous side and drawings in the main sevillanas satirical magazines, participation in the Humorística of San Sebastian organized by the Association of Illustrators Spanish and march to Madrid to work in the film industry of cartoons during the Second Republic. A second part, highlighting the artistic side as a poster of the Fair of San Miguel de Sevilla and painter in the exhibitions of the Section of Fine Arts of Seville Ateneo. His tenure as secretary of the same between 1927 and 1928, and the role of King Baltasar representing the cavalcade of Kings of Seville 1928, in addition to other assignments. Finally we try the political side and its commitment to the Reformist Party of Melquiades Alvarez, until the outbreak of the Spanish Civil War and its repercussions for having participated in the Masonic lodges.
