  • Resumen
    • Anaconda Barite told IM that it is planning to upgrade the current plant capacity at its Cobachi deposit located in Mexico. From January 2014 a new jig plant will be installed in order to produce barite of 4.10 - 4.20 g/cm3 specific gravity on a larger scale.

"The chemical analyses of barite from different parts of the Cobachi deposits show that it possesses the proper characteristics for being used in drilling fluids," the company said.

"Traditionally Mexico has been viewed as an unreliable supplier of mineral ore," the company explained. "This is due to a lack of financial infrastructure, its struggle to produce commercially viable volumes from any one deposit and poor security," Anaconda told IM.
