    Los itinerarios reales no han sido un tema muy estudiado por la historiografía a pesar de su interés, en la medida que permiten la reconstrucción exacta de las coordenadas espacio-temporales de cualquier reinado. El objetivo del presente trabajo, tras una pinceladas de carácter metodológico, es reconstruir la presencia de Fernando IV por tierras palentinas, al tiempo que significar la importancia estratégica de este territorio en los años de transición del siglo XIII al XIV.

    Royal itineraries have not been widely studied by historians despite their interest, as they allow accurate reconstruction of the space-time coordinates of any reign. The aim of the present work, after a few touches of methodological character, is to reconstruct the presence of Ferdinand IV in the territory of Palencia, while demonstrating the strategic importance of this region in the years between the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries.
