    El presente artículo profundiza en el nacimiento del Tenis de Mesa y en la introducción social que tuvo en nuestra ciudad desde principios del S.XX, gracias a los jóvenes oficiales británicos que la Eastern Telegraph Company (Cable Inglés) desplazó a Vigo a finales del S.XIX.

    Intenta también llamar la atención sobre un deporte de gran prestigio, muy popular (hoy en día el de mayor número de federados del mundo) con una gran tradicción e historia local, y sin embargo, ha caído en el olvido.

    The present article deepens in the birth of the Table Tennis and in its social introduction in our city at the beginning of the XXth century, thanks to the British young officials that the Eastern Telegraph Company (English Wire) displaced to Vigo at the end of the XIXth century. It also tries to call the attention on a sport of great prestige, very popular (the sport with the highest rate of federated persons in the world) with a big tradition and history in our city, however completely forgotten nowadays.
