En el interior más ignoto y aislado de las selvas de La Amazonía, hacia las fronteras de Brasil y Bolivia que alcanza el Río Madeira, se acomete, a partir de 1.850, la idea de un tren que salve el único tramo no navegable del río. La titánica obra requeriría miles y miles de trabajadores durante años, embarcando desde el Puerto de Vigo una gran mayoría. Con la modestia de este texto, se pretende lanzar un rayo de luz sobre tan descomunal hazaña y recuperar del olvido la odisea extrema de aquellos emigrantes nuestros.

In the most isolated area of the Amazonian jungles, towards the Brazilian and Bolivian borders bathed by the Madeira River, the project of a train that may cross the only part of the river that was not navigable is undertaken from the year 1850. The titanic work would require thousands and thousands of workers for years, many of them would come from the port of Vigo. This text tries, modestly, to cast a ray of light on such a great feat and bring back the memory the extreme odyssey of thouse ours emigrants
