  • Resumen
    • Introduction: Adverse Drug Reaction mentioned as ADR is the unwanted, uncomfortable or dangerous effects that a drug may have. The safety of drugs used in patients of an adult age group cannot be extrapolated to a pediatric age group. The pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of many commonly used drugs vary significantly between these two age groups of patients.

Method: In the present study, around 100 pediatric cases were evaluated for the evaluation of ADR by taking feedback from patients, caretakers or healthcare professionals. The results were analyzed using Naranjo’s scale and severity assessed using Hartwig’s scale.

Results: Thirty cases of ADR were observed. Majority of ADR were observed for antibiotics, amoxicillin clavulanic acid combination. The ADR observed were of mild or moderate nature.

Conclusion: Majority of ADR cases were observed for the antibiotic combinations, amoxicillin and clavulanic acid, so detailed observations should be done while this combination is prescribed or administered
