  • Resumen
    • [Hu Zijian]'s comments contradict the view expressed by Ron Struthers, editor of Struthers' Resource Stock Report, who recently told The Metals Report that the present period of graphite price stability is "an indication that the market is at equilibrium".

Despite the prospect of overcapacity in flake graphite markets, Switzerland-headquartered Timcal Graphite & Carbon is thought to have recommenced graphite mining operations at the company's Lac des Iles deposit in southern Quebec, Canada, IM has learned.

"We have suspended mining operations [at Lac des Iles] owing to high inventory levels, but we are continuing with our processing activities and to supply our customers," Fabrizio Corti, Timcal's senior vice president, sales and marketing, told IM in June.
