  • Resumen
    • They added that RHI plans to invest "a single digit million-euro" figure in expanding and modernising the Turkish facilities, which will serve the company's DBM requirements for manufacturing refractory products for the steel and cement industries.

TurkMagEexploited magnesite deposits in the Erzurum and Erzincan regions, claimed to be the second "richest" magnesite deposits in Turkey, hosting 15.5m tonnes of reserves, which it used to manufacture a range of DBM grades for making refractory products to supply the Turkish steel industry, as well as some overseas markets.

RHI's DBM production from the Ezurum site is therefore likely to be exported to more buoyant international steel markets, such as Ukraine, one of TurkMag's original marketing targets, which saw an 8.8% upswing in steel production, according to worldsteel figures.
