Resumen de Elkem Silicon Materials - refractories upgrade
On 23 August, after a year-long project, Elkem officially opened an upgraded refractory lab in Kristiansand, Norway. IM spoke to Arianeh Aamodt, technology director at Elkem Silicon Materials, about the new lab and why the refractory team decided to upgrade its lab facilities.
- After the upgrade, Elkem's refractories team can make use of more advanced methods to develop new products and are better equipped to work with slightly different research and development tasks. The upgrade also enables Elkem to provide its customers with an improved level of technical assistance.
- Located in Kristiansand, Norway, with Elkem Solar, Elkem Carbon and Elkem Research Centre as its closest neighbors, the refractories team has easy access to advanced laboratory equipment for material characterisation.
