Imerys builds proppants presence

  • As global shale oil and gas developments continue to swell, French minerals conglomerate Imerys SA has confirmed to IM that it plans to further cement its presence in this market and "does not rule out" expanding its ceramic proppants business.

    Based on this growth, "Imerys expects revenues for the proppant business to exceed [Euro] 150m ($192m*) by 2016," [Don Anschutz] told IM.

    Anschutz explained that as the market potential grows on a global scale, "Imerys does not rule out building other ceramic proppants plants, including in other parts of the world, if warranted by profitable growth prospects."
