Resumen de O voluntário no teatro “comunidade”: Um olhar sobre o seu significado segundo uma abordagem vocacional

  Although volunteer work is a part of the concept of career, vocational psychology hasn’t been studying it. Thus, this work presents itself as a reflexive basis in what concerns the psychological meaning of volunteering, in a vocational perspective.

  The Super developmental theory, namely the life-span, life-space approach, profess the existence of certain roles in life that are played in one, or perhaps more, of the four theatres in peoples’ lives. Underlining the importance that each role might have in its self-concept, as well as in the development of other roles, an analogy was created between Blustein’s taxonomy related to the psychological meaning of work, and the, still not explored, perceived and experienced meaning by individuals that are involved in volunteering activities.

  Several questions to explore the meaning of volunteering roles are suggested, according to the pos-modern paradigm/model, foreseeing a qualitative methodology, and practical implications.

  O voluntariado faz parte da definição de carreira mas a psicologia vocacional não o tem estudado.

  Deste modo, o presente trabalho revela-se como uma base reflexiva relativamente ao estudo do significado psicológico do voluntariado, numa perspectiva vocacional.

  A teoria desenvolvimentista de Super, nomeadamente na abordagem life-span, life-space, contempla a existência de papéis de vida que são representados num, ou mais, dos quatro teatros de vida das pessoas. Salientando a importância que cada um dos papéis poderá ter no auto-conceito, bem como no desenvolvimento de outros papéis, realizou-se uma analogia entre a taxionomia de Blustein relativamente ao significado psicológico do trabalho, face ao significado, ainda por explorar, percepcionado e experienciado pelos indivíduos que se envolvem em actividades de voluntariado.

  Propõem-se várias questões exploratórias do significado do papel de voluntariado, segundo o paradigma pós-moderno, perspectivando uma metodologia qualitativa e implicações práticas.
