El pediatra.que trabaja en el ambiente extrahospitalario se enfrenta frecuentemente y regularmente con el síndrome febril que es la primera causa de consulta en pediatria extra hospitalaria asistencial.
La fiebre es un aumento de la temperatura corporal termoregulado por el termostato del hipotálamo provocado por la acción de los pirogenos endögenos casi siempre.
Si la fiebre es beneficiosa o no, aún estit'en controversia. Hay razones a favor de su tratamiento v otras en contra; de su balance oblendermos las indicaciones del tratamiento sintomático. La aspirina y el paracetamol son los fármacos de elección dependiendo de sus efectos secundarios.
El enfriamiento externo es un intento no fisiológico de reducir !afiebre, pero tiene sus indicaciones..

El pediatre que treballa en l'ambient extrahospitalari s'ha d'enfrontar freqüentment i regularment amb la síndrome febril, que és la primera causa de consulta en pediatria extrahospitaläria assistencial.
La febre és un augment de la temperatura corporal termoregulat pel termòstat de l'hipotä- lem i provocat per l'acció dels pirógens endogens gairebé sempre.
Si la febre és beneficiosa o no, est à encara en controversia. I-fi ha raons a favor del seu tractanient i altres en contra; del seu balanç traurem les indicacions del tractament simptomàtic.
L'aspirina i el paracetamol són els fàrmacs d'elecció dependent dels seus efectes secundaris.

The Pediatrician who works in an extrahospital environment has to face the febrile syndrome ffecl uent and regularly, which is the main cause ofconsultation in ambulatory pediatrics.
The fever is the increase of the temperature of the body thermoregulated by the hipotalam thermostat and caused by the action of the endogenous pyrogen nearly always.
The rever being beneficial or not is still now in discussion. There are some reasons in be- half of its treatment and some against it; anyhow the direction of the smptomatic treaiment will be extractad from its balance.
The aspirine and the acetaminophen are the choosing drugs, both uses depending on their seeondary effects.
The externa] cooling is a non-psychological purpose to reduce the rever, having its own in- cheations.
