Resumen de Versuch über den Begriff des Terrors

Stefan Diebitz

  • Terror in this study is distinguished from amok and partisan combat. The partisan fights for his country from the heart of his people. The terrorist, however, has not committed himself to any certain region and his actions reveal no rational intention. While terror in its senseless and unfounded action attempts to destroy any public life, amok as well as partisan combat is privately motivated and destroys the lives of individuals. Its early form used to be the conformist terror which has nowadays mutated into individual terror initiated by people that have completely broken with their past, their roots and their ethos. Thus, terror cannot live without its most crucial requirement: mobility.
