This work undertakes a comparison between Literature and the Visual Arts: it proposes a possible correspondence between the lyric images used by Ultraist writers during the twenties and the “vibrant” pictorial images that the Uruguayan painters Rafael Barradas and Joaquín Torres-García used in their contemporary paintings. Moreover, some opinions of the specialists dealing with the Alfar magazine in its two moments, the Corunean and the Montevidean period, will be discussed.
