This article presents a panorama of contemporary Chilean poetry from the military coup in 1973 to the present, distinguishing three periods: the dictatorship (1973-1990), the postdictatorship (1990-2001) and the hyperdictatorship (2001-to the present). In each phase the natiotal poetic tradition, its points of flight, critical tensions and maladjustment with the historical process that acts as it stage. In a way, this is a journey through poets and poetics that are personal and collective, that have designed in Chile a nomadic, heterogeneous and interdicted cartography in the rich scenario of contemporary Latin American poetry.
