    El aumento de la movilidad y las migraciones en las últimas décadas ha favorecido el crecimiento de los matrimonios binacionales. La posibilidad del cónyuge extranjero de estos matrimonios de obtener beneficios en términos de nacionalidad y residencia ha provocado la aparición de normas de carácter nacional y supranacional con el objetivo de controlarlos. Tanto en la elaboración de estas normas como en su aplicación se transmiten nociones relativas a las características que debe poseer el ‘verdadero amor’. El análisis de la legislación y de las resoluciones que recogen la autorización o denegación de estos matrimonios constituye una fuente de información privilegiada para profundizar en las políticas migratorias y repensar las bases y transformaciones de los referentes amorosos actuales. En el caso español, la ideología romántica y de la pura relación, y el modelo de pareja tradicional y el matrimonio de compañeros aparecen como los principales referentes.

    Mobility and immigration sustained growth in the last decades have contributed to an increase in bi-national marriages. The possibility for the foreign spouse to obtain benefits in terms of nationality and residence has led to the creation of regulatory bodies, of both national and supranational order, that are designed to control such unions. Both in the preparation of these rules and in their implementation, ideas related to the expected characteristics of ‘true love’ are transmitted. The analysis of the legislation and the resolutions authorizing or denying these marriages are privileged sources of inside information to further investigate on migration policies other than to rethink the foundations and transformations of existing normative values of love. In the Spanish case, the romantic ideology and pure relationship, along with the traditional family and companionate marriage appear as the main references.
