    El objetivo del siguiente artículo es rastrear la concepción de la niñez en los discursos de las autoridades oficiales en el Departamento del Valle del Cauca a principios del siglo XX. Indaga por la forma en la que la voz oficial inventó, construyó y representó a la niñez, como periodo vital que encierra múltiples claves para entender el resto de las edades y del comportamiento del ser humano y de la sociedad, independiente de la temporalidad y el contexto social.

     The objective of this article is to trace the development of children in the speeches of the official authorities in the Department of Valley of Cauca in the early twentieth century. Inquire at the way in which the official voice invented, built and represented the children as vital period that holds many keys to understanding the rest of the ages and behavior of man and society, independent of the timing and social context.
