El artículo es un extracto de un capítulo de su Tesis Doctoral presentada en CENDES/UCV.El objetivo principal de este artículo es estudiar las estrategias que las mujeresdesarrollan para salir de la pobreza. Se analizan y ponderan sus condicionesde vida y de discriminación y se examinan las estrategias que sepresentan como las más relevantes: control de la fecundidad, participaciónen el sistema educativo y participación en las actividades económicas remuneradas.

The main purpose of this article is to study the strategies stated by women to defeat poverty. Their living conditions and discriminations are analysed and pondered, examining also the most relevant strategies followed: fecundity control, participation in the educational system and participation in remunerative economic activities.
The knowledge about these strategies and how they affect the living conditions, and how are interconnected to identify the indicators respectively facilitating or impeding to defeat poverty is what we aim at. Some reflections end this paper, looking for to set up criteria to design policies allowing, on one hand, reinforce positive indicators of these strategies against poverty, and on the other hand, to favour the eradication of gender inequalities which affect women.
