    Fueron mujeres, desde fines del siglo XIX, las pioneras y teóricas de la proteccióndel medio ambiente. La marginación de las mujeres y la destrucciónde la biodiversidad son procesos coadyuvantes. La ética ecofeministaimpulsa nuevas actitudes y conductas con el objetivo de lograr cambios enla cultura vigente, cultura que se basa en relaciones androcéntricas. Todapersona es sujeto de derechos inalienables, por ende es clara la necesidadde que todos, y en especial quienes detentan poderes, defiendan y respetenlos derechos humanos. Los derechos siempre suponen deberes. Lalibertad de cada persona, la responsabilidad individual, la horizontalidad enlas interrelaciones y el respeto a toda la Vida y a los recursos de la Tierra,son elementos básicos de la ética ecofeminista. El pleno desarrollo de lapersona, la comunidad y la nación tiene como base el trabajo creativo yresponsable de todas y de todos.

    Since the end of the XIX-th century, women have been pioneers and theoretical in the protection of the Environment. The margination of women and the destruction of the biodiversity are cooperating processes. The loss of biological diversity is the price to be paid when we follow the patriarcal way of progressing. The ecofeminist ethics push for new attitudes and ways of conduct so as obtain changes in the actual culture, which is based on androcentrical relations. Everybody is subject to inalienable rights; it is therefore necessary that everybody, and especially those of us who hold powers, defend and respect human rights.

    Rights always include duties. Everybody’s freedom, the horizontality of the interrelations, the individual responsability and the respect for Life and Earth’s resources are basic elements for the ecofeminist ethics. Full development of the human being, of the community and of the country are based on everybody’s creative and responsible work
