    En aquest article s’analitza tipològicament un dels retaules barrocs més ornamentats de la catedral de Barcelona: l’altar de la Glorificació de la Verge. A partir d’aquest singular exemple, de gran exuberància decorativa, es busquen vincles amb alguns tractats d’art del sis-cents i el set-cents, com ara el Tratado de la pintura sabia, de Juan Andrés Ricci, i l’obra Perspectiva pictorum et architectorum, d’Andrea Pozzo. El text pretén ajudar a enriquir el ventall de les fonts que els nostres artistes i obradors van poder utilitzar per tirar endavant les més diverses comandes artístiques.Paraules clau: catedral, barroc, retaule, Gallart, Ricci, Pozzo.

    This article analyzes, from a typological point of view, one of the more ornate baroque altarpieces of Barcelona cathedral, that of the Glorification of the Virgin. From this singular piece of fully decorative ornamentation we try to draw connections with some important treaties on art from the Sixteenth and Seventeenth centuries, such as Tratado de la pintura sabia by Juan Rizi and also the famous Perspectiva pictorum et architectorum by Andrea Pozzo. This text aims to enrich the range of sources that Catalan artists and workshops have at their disposal when carrying out diverse artistic assignments.Keywords: cathedral, Barroco, altarpiece, Gallart, Ricci, Pozzo.
