    El objetivo central de este trabajo es determinar el desarrollo y las perspectivas de la telefonia e Internet en Venezuela. Para tal fin se realizo una investigacion descriptiva - longitudinal, revisando documentos gubernamentales y organizacionales en el ambito nacional, dividiendo el trabajo en tres partes fundamentales: Inicio, auge a finales del siglo XX y perspectivas a inicios de este siglo. Se concluyo que la telefonia fija, movil e Internet son las herramientas centrales de la tecnologia de la informacion que la sociedad venezolana esta usando, de manera vertiginosa sentando los primeros pasos hacia la sociedad de la informacion y el conocimiento.

    The central objective of this work is to determine the development and the perspectives of the telephony and Internet in Venezuela. For that it was doing a descriptive longitudinal investigation revising government and organizational documents in Venezuela, dividing the work in three fundamental parts: Beginning, peak in the XX century and perspectives to beginnings of this century. To have the conclusion that the basic and mobile telephony, and Internet are the central tools of the technology of the information that the Venezuelan society is using to continue in a vertiginous way sitting down the first steps toward the society of the information and the knowledge.
