    Hasta la aprobación de la Ley 4/2015, de 27 de abril, del Estatuto de la Víctima del Delito, no se reconocía,en nuestro ordenamiento jurídico, un derecho general de la víctima a ser informada. En la actualidad, este derecho seregula en los arts. 5, 7 y 12 LEVD, distinguiendo, entre información básica pre-procesal, información sobre la causapenal e información sobre las resoluciones que ponen fin al proceso. El régimen de notificación —de oficio o con carácter rogado— difiere en atención a si la información a facilitar es o no esencial para el ejercicio del resto de derechosreconocidos a la víctima.

    Up to the approval of the Act 4/2015, 27thApril, the status of the victim of crime, a general right of the victimto be informed was not recognized in our legal system. At the moment, this right is regulated in the articles 5, 7 and 12LEVD, which distinguish between basic pre-procedural information, information about the criminal proceeding andinformation about the resolutions that put end to the process. The regime of notification —by law or prior request— isdifferent in consideration of if that information is or not essential for the exercise of the rest of rights recognized to thevictim.
