  • A scene from The Spirit of the Beehive (1973) can give us the key to understanding some structural coordinates of the filmography of Víctor Erice. The images of Ana Torrent sitting in the cinema were filmed using a documentary technique, trying to capture this special moment of truth. They also have great meta-linguistic value, because they speak to us of a cinema experience that escapes from intellectual consciousness. They are the trigger for the beginning of a path returning to ourselves, to the child's view, which can free us from preconceived notions and open us up to the world.
