Resumen de Reconstruyendo la memoria colectiva de la represión en Latinoamérica: el cine como artefacto

El presente trabajo da cuenta del pasado latinoamericano, en concretode los tiempos del terror en el continente. Para ello, se aproximadesde el enfoque de la memoria colectiva, la cual insiste enque deben guardarse los significados de los acontecimientos y, adiferencia de la historia oficial, se mantiene de distintas formas(en marcos sociales, como el tiempo, el espacio y el lenguaje).Asimismo, la memoria colectiva se conserva en artefactos e instrumentoscomo objetos, textos, placas, monumentos o el cine.Éstos posibilitan la recuperación del pasado. Aquí se estudia elcine como artefacto de la memoria colectiva, proponiéndolo comomaterial de trabajo para reconstruir el pasado vivido por distintosgrupos y sociedades, y con un significado para ellos.

The present paper talks about Latin-American history, specificallyin relation to times of terror in our continent. To approach thistheme, we draw upon the theory of collective memory. Contraryto official versions of history, this theory stipulates that we mustpreserve the meaning of events. The difference between collectivememory and official history is evident in the diverse ways theymaintain the information using social frames like time, space andlanguage. Likewise, collective memory is retained in mechanismsand instruments that could be objects, texts, monuments or evenfilms. These instruments help us to retrieve the past. Here, wetake films as instruments of collective memory. They will be ourwork material to reconstruct and understand the past lived bydifferent social groups.
