Resumen de Sixto Pondal Ríos: cine y argentinidad

El interés por estudiar la obra de Sixto Pondal Ríos reside en su destacada participación como guionista de películas argentinas durante las décadas del ’30 al ’60 de modo tal que resulta una interesante superficie de emergencia para comparar el tipo de narraciones ficcionales que atravesaron gran parte del siglo XX argentino así como las relaciones entre cine, cultura e identidad nacional. Por otra parte, sus guiones eran y siguen considerándose como expresiones de la argentinidad y la porteñidad de la primera mitad del siglo XX siendo el estudio de sus condiciones de producción y reconocimiento un elemento de suma importancia para entender las relaciones entre cine e identidades y estilos de vida populares. El artículo propone construir una problematización de los vínculos entre los guiones cinematográficos de Sixto Pondal Ríos y los modos en que éstos sirvieron para convertir al cine en productor-reproductor de argentinidad.

The interest in studying the work of Sixto Pondal Ríos lives for their outstanding participation of Argentine films as writer during the 30s to 60s so that is an interesting area of emergency to compare the type of fictional narratives that spanned much twentieth-century Argentina and relations between film, culture and national identity. Moreover his scripts were and still are considered as expressions of the Argentine and the city’s essence in the first half of the twentieth century. Therefore the study of their conditions of production and recognition is an element of utmost importance to understand the relationship between cinema and identities and popular life styles. The article proposes to build a problematization of the links between the screenplays of Sixto Pondal Ríos and the ways in which they served to make the film a producer-player of “Argentineness”.
