Resumen de La mujer en la paremiología española de origen latino y griego: ámbito doméstico y vida conyugal

  Las paremias españolas son una fuente indudable de información sobre la ideología imperante en la mentalidad de la comunidad hispanohablante. En las paremias quedan fosilizados estereotipos, concepciones y cosmovisiones que pertenecen a la sociedad que las acuña. Aquí se pretende observar cómo una determinada concepción de la mujer se encontraba ya reflejada en las paremias griegas y latinas, y cómo esta imagen ha pervivido (con matizaciones atribuibles a otras influencias como la cultura judeocristiana) en los refranes españoles que derivan de los clásicos. El análisis va a centrarse en el rol de las mujeres en el ámbito doméstico, en cómo se las recluye entre los muros de la casa para controlar su sexualidad y asegurar el éxito de su cometido social (es decir, engendrar herederos legítimos del patrimonio de sus esposos); al mismo tiempo, se describirán las tareas que se les asignan en la organización del hogar y cómo, según las paremias, su sometimiento es condición ineludible para el buen funcionamiento de la unidad doméstica

  Spanish proverbs are an unquestionable source of information about ideology prevailing in Spanish-speaking community’s mentality. Proverbs contain stereotypes, conceptions and a worldwide perception belonging to the society that coined them. The aim of this paper is to investigate how a determined conception of women was already reflected in Greek and Latin proverbs, and how this image is still prevalent (with nuances due to other influences such as the Judeo-Christian culture) in Spanish proverbs deriving from the classical ones. This analysis is going to be focused on the women’s role in the domestic field, on how they are confined to the space between the walls of their houses so as to control their sexuality and guarantee the success of their social mission – that is to say, to beget rightful heirs to their husbands” assets. At the same time, the paper describes the tasks they have been assigned to in the domestic organization and the way their subjection – according to proverbs – is an essential condition for proper functioning of the domestic unit
