Resumen de 'Via Del Corno': spazio per lo sguardo, spazio dell’ascolto: note per uno studio sul problema della rappresentazione dello spazio nel romanzo nelle "Cronache di poveri amanti" di Pratolini

Adriana De Bernardo

  • The object of this paper is an investigation into the ways in which fictional space is activated in Cronache di poveri amanti, a novel by the Florentine writer Vasco Pratolini. The study seeks to identify the perceptive (both audio and visual) poles on which the readers of this twentieth-century novel rely, in order to enter the represented and/or representing space of the text. It analyses the specific and individual perception of the working or domestic space of each character which is activated by the author by means of an in-depth study of sensory categories. The article's emphasis on the processes of spacialization as the plotting engines of the Cronache highlights a different critical approach to the problem of the representation of space in novels, thus pointing to a possible overcoming of the hermeneutic criterion of the figurativeness
