When conducting a single fractional factorial experiment with many factors, results may not be conclusive and the addition of another fraction is often recommended. In this study, another fraction is added to a resolution IV design containing close to the maximum number of factors. General results are offered for identifying the best foldover for resolution IV designs. Semifolding is also considered because follow-up designs occur that also permit estimation of effects of interest. The methodology is illustrated for a 15-factor ceramic fiber composite experiment.
