Sensibilidad al gluten no celiaca: : ¿entidad o ficción?

    En los últimos años estamos asistiendo a un aumento en el número de personas que refieren problemas relacionados con la ingestión de cereales que contienen gluten, sin que existan evidencias previas de enfermedad celiaca (EC) o de alergia al trigo (AT), e incluso por otros motivos ajenos a la salud.

    Debido a la diversidad de presentaciones clínicas relacionadas con la ingesta de gluten y a la falta de consenso en la definición de cada una de ellas, en el año 2012 se publicaron los "Criterios de Oslo" que establecen un consenso sobre la nueva nomenclatura y clasificación de la EC, donde definen todas aquellas entidades relacionadas con el gluten, clasificándolas en tres grandes grupos: la alergia al gluten, las reacciones inmunológicas relacionadas con el gluten, entre las que incluyen también afectaciones extraintestinales (ataxia por gluten y dermatitis herpetiforme); y la sensibilidad al gluten no celiaca.

    In recent years we are witnessing an increase in the number of people reporting problems related to the ingestion of gluten-containing cereals, with no previous evidence of celiac disease (CD) or wheat allergy (WA), and even other problems other than health.

    Due to the variety of clinical presentations related to gluten intake and the lack of consensus on the definition of each of them, the "Oslo Criteria" were published in the year 2012 establishing a consensus on the new nomenclature and classification of the CD and defining all entities related to gluten, classifying them into three groups: gluten allergy, immunological reactions related to gluten, among which extraintestinal affectations are also included (gluten ataxia and dermatitis herpetiformis) and non-celiac gluten sensitivity.
