  • Frontenac? is a cold resistance wine grape cultivar originating from the cold northern areas of the United States and it was introduced into Inner Mongolia of China in 2003. In this experiment, we observed the biological characteristics, botanical characteristics, phenology, growth and fruit habit, yield, and the ecological adaptability of the cultivar. The ?Frontenac? cultivar grows well in Inner Mongolia. Branch maturation is good, fruit yield is high, and the ability to resist cold is strong; also wine physiochemical indexes are excellent. Comprehensive evaluation shows that the wine grape cultivar ?Frontenac? has the potential to develop in the cold area in Inner Mongolia.
