  Este artículo estudia la hacienda municipal de Santa Cruz de Tenerife entre 1936 y 1958, un período muy complejo por las dificultades políticas y económicas derivadas de la Guerra Civil y de la Segunda Guerra Mundial. Nuestro esfuerzo analítico se centrará en ponderar su impacto en las estructuras económicas del municipio y sobre los niveles de bienestar de los ciudadanos, para lo que tendremos en cuenta la conducta de los indicadores más relevantes desde la perspectiva del funcionamiento de los mecanismos de una hacienda local que fue adaptada a los intereses de la dictadura de Franco.

  This article studies the municipal treasury of Santa Cruz de Tenerife between 1936 and 1958. It was a very complex period due to the political and economic difficulties arising from the Civil War and the impact of World War II. We try to weigh their impact on the economic structures of the municipality and on the levels of welfare of citizens, taking into account the conduct of the most relevant indicators from the perspective of the functioning of the mechanisms of a municipal treasury which was adapted to the interests of the dictatorship of Franco.
