  • Abstract This JOURter describes the career in drug discovery of Malcolm MacCoss, from his early studies as a graduate student in the UK and as a postdoctoral fellow in Canada, through his work at Argonne National Laboratory and on to his career at Merck Research Laboratories in Rahway, NJ and eventually to Schering-Plough in Kenilworth, NJ. The particular discoveries of EMEND® and JANUVIA® are discussed.
