    The environment, God's creation (ktisis) and our world, is the context in which humans find their way to theosis or deification. It is a work of God and an integral part of His Kingdom. Unfortunately, for over two decades now, humankind has been witnessing the severe consequences of a set of ecological ploblems that is invariably connected to the social problems of poverty and injustice. Our task is to protect our common global home, and to safeguard its integrity for the benefit of coming generations. Religious leaders are, therefore, called to form a new morality for the environment, based on respect and love for all creation which is a gift from God. This article aims to emphasize these three aspects of Christian mission (the mission of God, the mission to "the other" and the mission regarding nature) and to underline the fact that these missions are so intrinsically interconnected that they can never be separated.

    L'ambiente, creazione di Dio e mondo in cui abitiamo, rappresenta il contesto in cui l'essere umano trova la sua via verso la divinizzazione. Esso è opera di Dio e parte integrante del suo Regno. Sfortunatamente, durante l'ultimo ventennio, l'umanità è stata testimone dell'aggravarsi della problematica ambientale che si dimostra strettamente interconnessa con la problematica sociale della povertà e dell'ingiustizia. Il nostro compito consiste nel difendere la nostra casa comune, preservandone l'integrità a beneficio delle future generazioni. I leader religiosi devono perciò sentirsi chiamati a elaborare una nuova morale, basata sul rispetto e l'amore per la creazione, che è dono di Dio. L'articolo intende mettere l'accento su tre aspetti della missione cristiana (missione di Dio, la missione verso gli altri e la missisone nei riguardi della natura), evidenziando il fatto che essi sono così strettamente interconnessi che non tollerano separazione alcuna.
