Analysis of means (ANOM) can be used in statistical process control to improve product quality. This study seeks to devise inference procedures when the objective is to detect percentage changes from the overall mean in a normal one-way layout. Results can be printed graphically, and adjusted p-values and simultaneous confidence intervals for ratios to the overall mean can be constructed. Advantages of the approach are demonstrated using examples for comparing several mutants and for obtaining a set of comparable simultaneous confidence intervals in multiple endpoints.
