MOOCs are to be understood as innovative educational experiences and not to be confused with a technology platform or an aggregator. The experience of the MOOC “Digital Library in principle and practice” delivered in the European platform EMMA (European Multiple MOOC Aggregator), is used to explain the challenges in pedagogy and in digital library content presentation to a heterogeneous learning community. The Author has had first to analyse the context of the digital library for learning and later adapting to the MOOC connectivist pedagogy; it has been inspired by the disciplinar needs of the digital library course and stimulated by the opportunities of the platform EMMA. Reflections of the A. together with descriptions of the course structure and delivery achievements are given.
