The paper deals with the situation of school libraries in Italy after the approval of the new ‘Piano Nazionale Scuola Digitale’ (PNSD – National Plan for Digital Education), a policy plan launched in 2016. Following more than a decade of neglect, the Plan includes a specific and founded action on School Libraries, considered as instrumental for connecting traditional and digital information literacy. A most welcome perspective, if the renewed attention on school libraries proves to be a lasting one.
